Ngwepe worked for Visa for nearly a decade. In this role, he established the government relations function for Visa Sub-Saharan Africa and was responsible for the company’s relations with policy makers and regulators across the continent. Ngwepe previously served as a career diplomat in the South African Foreign Service, including two tours at the country’s Embassy in Washington D.C. He also served as a media spokesperson for South Africa’s Department of Foreign Affairs. In between his work in the civil service and at Visa, Ngwepe served as Executive Director for Public Affairs and a member of the Board of Directors at Anglo American South Africa.
Ngwepe received his Bachelor’s and Bachelor of Arts Honours degrees from the University of the North, an Advanced Management Program from the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science, and a Master’s degree in Applied Ethics from the University of Wits. Ngwepe is active in supporting various social causes in South Africa and serves on the board of directors of several organizations.
