Erickson’s background includes serving as the chief executive of Eastern Congo Initiative, Ben Affleck’s philanthropic organization in central Africa, where, among other activities, he successfully persuaded Fortune 500 companies such as Google and Starbucks to invest in first-of-their-kind global health and development initiatives. Previous positions include serving as a strategic advisor to leaders at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and as a visiting scholar at the Africa Studies Center at Beijing University.
Erickson holds a B.A. in Political Science from Davidson College and an M.P.A. in International Development from Princeton University. He is a Lecturer at the University of Colorado, Denver. Mr. Erickson is fluent in French and conversant in Mandarin and Spanish; he has lived in seven countries, with experience in another 60 countries on five continents.
